Video viewing help

Ok this is about installing the JVC KD-DV5400...this unit says it will not playback a DVD video unless the parking brake wire hooked up! This uiit will be a boat not a car and will be hooked up to an LCD monitor in the cabin.. can this "Parking Brake" safety function be worked around by just suppling a 12v source to this wire...fooling it as it is the parking break? If not how can this deck be used to play video as well as the standard audio funtions?

No you need to ground this wire either by putting a switch between the wire and the ground and hitting it on and off than back on. Or buy a bypass off of ebay.
