Hi everybody,

This is my first message and I need your urgent help.

I have a blown Pioneer TS-WX610A active spare sub and it's in repair shop now for coil replacement.

There is no info on internet about the specs of the two dual coil subwoofers included in this device.

The repair shop insists that each coil of each sub should be 2 ohms.

But when I look at the internal wiring, each coil (2 coils x 2 subs = 4 coils) is connected to the outputs of the PAL007C chip which has 4 outputs as 4 x 45 W / 4 ohms.

So,

What should be the impedance of each coil? 2 ohm or 4 ohm?

The only data on TS-WX610A I've found is:

Speaker specifications

Size..................................................... ø 100(3-7/8" Dia.) mm × 2

High compliance, rolled edge

Heat-resistant voice coil

Strontium magnet: 280 g (10 oz)

Amplifier

Max. Power output.......................100 W × 2 (80 Hz, 30 % THD)

DIN output power (DIN45324, 80 Hz, 2.0 ohm +B=14.4 V)... 70 W × 2

INPUT LEVEL (at Gain Max)

(RCA).......................... 60 mV+60 mV/20 k

(Speaker line)......................1.2 V+1.2 V/5 k

Power source.................. DC 14.4V (10.8 V to 15.6 V allowable)

Max. current consumption.....................................................14 A

Grounding...........................................................Negative ground

Your help is very appriciated. Thanks!

Thanks Anthony,

But, is this guarantee that EACH coil of each sub is 2 Ω, too?

This device has 2 x dual coil woofers.

Did you try the red on both sides, then the white on both sides. It may be a bad cable.

"I don't have any crossovers" You'll need one to filter out the low frequencies leading to your sub woofer. They'll produce no sound then...
