I went into our local audio shop (custom audio) and told them that i had an amp with two subs and i needed help setting my gains so that i know where they are at and so that i dnt have them set to high. He told me i needed to check with hifonics and see what they recomend with the kinds of subs im using. Correct me if im wrong but i thought it was just as simple as using an multimeter on my amp with the subs disconnected and adjust it untill i reach where i want it. He said something about having to know the impedence and some other shit. I am new at this and need help. Right now i am not satisfied with the way they are performing. I want to change my gains so that they are at the max my subs can handle RMS. I have two type R's hooked up to a hifonics bxi2006D. Its rated at 2000 watts but ive heard its overrated. Any help is appreciated.
