very short power wire to amp

hi,

i'm installing a amp in a car with the battery in the trunk, my power wire is only about a total of 3 ft long from the amp to the battery, is this too short??

i don't want my car to catch on fire.. please help

Just fuse it within the first foot of battery. Most people with small cars run short runs like that because everything is so close to eachother

the shorter the better.

less resistance in the wire.

more voltage at the amp.
