Vented enclosure

I am in the process of deciding on my enclosure for 2 12 brahmas. I decided to go vented but have never made one, I only have made sealed. Do I have to seal the enclosure liek I woudl a sealed enclosure (except for the vent)? Also, how does everyone finish ovv their boxes, I don't want to inset the sides of my box which I usually do for sealed boxes to carpet them, so what oter ideas does everyone have?

Ported boxes are the same thing as sealed, but u either cut out a hole for a round port, and u make a slot port. U can carpet it, but i never do anything to my boxes. Same old mdf wood looks good enough for me
