Vent shape question.

Currently working on a new box build for a 15'' I just picked up. I just had a quick question.

Is there a certain height/width or width/height ratio I have follow when making my vent?

Here are my box dimensions: 44Wx14Hx22D, vent: 12.5''x6'' The box is a little short because I want to mount the sub on the top piece.

Any help's appreciated.

What do you mean ratio? Like how big it should be, or literally a ratio of width versus height?

usually, its recommended that the ratio should never exceed 8:1, so 12.5 x 6 is fine.

its best to keep it as equal as possible.thats why a circle port will alway pwn a square.
