care to elaborate , I have found one for pretty cheap. I was planning on building my own but between finding the perfect gear and building it its just not worth it to me.

i have the valodyne 15" with the slot port and i love it, thing gets loud and real real low but i got mine from a buddy that worked at the store they sold them at, employee discount FTW!

Yes Velodyne Subs are worth the $$

great subs very nice sound quality

Sunfire is also very nice

It depends which series you get. The hgs series and the dd series are really nice subs. They play extremely loud, are super clean, and the processing in the dd series is very helpful in making your room sound good. They're cheaper lines are descent but I wouldn't say they're top quality like the hgs and dd's. I've had the velodyne hgs 15 and I liked it a lot but eventually I upgraded to the jl audio f113 home sub and so far haven't found anything that can touch it as far as sound. Are the velodynes worth the money? Well that's a matter of opinion. I think they're definatley worth the used price on audigon.com but I have a hard time paying retail price for anything...
