VC question

I will shake you
So I got my TC top assembly back yesterday, I was wondering, On the spider you can see that it has what looks like a dual VC config. You can see 2 runs(Woven tensiles) on oppiste sides but I only have 1 terminal. I hope this makes sence. I will post pics soon.

That and the VC is wraped weird. I have only seen perfectly wraped VC, well this one is wraped around perfect than the last few wraps go from top to bottom. Again I'll have pics in a few.

thats becuase tc was to cheap to order spiders with only one set of leads woven in:) that second set goes nowhere.
Ahh I see, this is the first time that I have seen it. Its kinda funny they actully sent me what apears to be a TC3000 Top assembly. But he told me that HE was going to send me thw LMS4000. It has the TC sounds logo on the cone. looks like a titanium or aluminum.

I dont care either way, I got it back.

I think it was snoopdan that showed me a pic of the LMS4000 and it looks nothing like what I got.

I will also DMM it to see where she sits at.

man i may be ignorant but that doesnt look like too healthy of a coil winding //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Thats what I thought too. Never seen anything like it. Can anyone give me more info about this LMS t echnology. Why is it wound like that? what does it do for the speaker? iirc I heard this would oly work in a IB setup, or a real big sealed.

It is wound that way to give the motor extra control over the movement of the cone. Where it is thicker, there is greater force applied to the voice coil.
Ohh.... so that means what?.?.?

would this bad mama jamma work well in a ported box.?

the coil is wrapped that way on purpose this is what helps the sub stay almost perfectly linear at full excursion and not have alot of distortion. You do have an LMS top!

On the LMS subs depeniding on what size it is but tune low!!!!
