That's just crazy.....especially for the amount of money I pay Blue Shield every month for their 'family plan'.There were some guys that would come in with no insurance, I couldn't believe what they were paying out of pocket to get snipped..
It depends on where you have it done. If it's done in the office, they just use a little local and that's it. If you have it done in a surgery center like where I work, you go through the whole routine like you're having surgery done. You change into a gown, get an IV, and they give you some Versed which is basically liquid Xanax (you probally won't remember much of anything but if you do, you'll be so stoned you won't care). You won't be under a general anesthetic meaning you won't be completely asleep. It's called consious sedation but some people actually end up falling asleep on their own with the help of Versed. It's real short acting stuff so once they stop administering it, you'll come out of it pretty quick compared to a general.Anyone know how they sedate you before they snip?? Do they generally put you under, or are you awake? I really don't want to be conscious.....I'm bad a workin' myself up for nothing for some things, and this I'm sure would be one of those times.
