Various issues with a new head unit.

I have a 07 H3 with the Monsoon system. For a OEM system it's pretty good. I got a good deal on a Kenwood DDX-7019 double din so decided to install it last week.

Issue #1

Ended up paying for the module to connect it so the warning tones stay functional. Made by PAC-Audio. http://www.pac-audio.com/instructions/c2r-gm24.pdf

In the manual it says for a "bose amplified" unit to use rca to rca (PAC unit to head unit) When I did this I could barely hear the sound and heard a pop form the speakers anytime I turned it off/on. Now when I used the speaker lines from the head unit to the PAC RCA's the pop was gone and the volume was fine.

Issue#2

Since the monsoon system uses a small 8 channel amp I decided to try and hook up my fosgate (200A4) for the 8" sub. I ran RCA's from the sub output to the amp. Hooked up all the wires to test it out. Now the "pop" sound was back again in the sub when the unit was turned on or off.

Issue#3 Now the sound is much clearer with the new unit but the sub-bass form the front and rear speakers seem to be missing. Do you think this is because of the crossover points from the head unit? I've played around with different points and still sounds more of a midrange tone.

Any thoughs on this? If you have any answers on the certain issues please reply with the issue# you are addressing.

Well I decided to get it looked at whether I keep it or sell it. Works nice now and it's back in my H3. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif If I was the same factory sub-bass sound I just set the x-over points to "through". Lots of nice features on this one too!!
