what happens if you install windows with the same cd and cd code on 2 computers, i mean it works fine and all but what about that 30 days to activate, wont they know its on 2 computers?

As long as you don't register it, you will be find, the computer i am on now has a copy of windows that i don't really own.

If you register and everything to many times on diffrent computers, they will consider it a "hot" version and windows will not let you odwnload some programs form there website.

You can crack it.

The activation process takes a 'hash' of your computer's hardware checksums;

Basically, if you change too much hardware, it knows. So for instance, if you took the HD out of your old Dell with Windows XP, and connected it to like an Alienware; Windows would know, and ask to be reactivated.

Or, you could just use a Corporate serial number and never worry about it.

well i just tells me i need to activate windows after 30 days, should i do it? and can i dl the service packs without concern

you can dl the service packs as archives instead of as a live update.
