using welding wire for the big 3?

my friend has some 1 size welding wire sitting around he is wondering if he can use it for the big 3 its 600volt i think

we looked up the company and it says it does 250 to 300 amps to 50foot of wire think this will work good with a dc 250amp alt?

Yeah it will be fine.

Just be sure to keep it from excess heat from the exhaust.
