you are not going to change how people drive until it affects them personally(there are few exceptions).. even then not always... i didn't read all of it but does she want a nationwide or just florida ban?

On my old SideKick 3 I used to text all the time while driving... however, I never took my eyes off the road. Since it was just a regular keyboard with real keys, I could type extremely fast and with relative ease.

How do you read incoming messages?

i wouldn't tell people that.. thats not something to be proud of.. typing regardless takes more of an effort than talking..

And finding a song on your iPod takes much more effort than talking... so does changing the station on your radio... not to mention talking to a friend who is in the car. Or singing along to a song. There will always be distractions. You just have to master them. I no longer text, though... and I rarely talk on the phone.

People should have their licenses revoked for texting while driving. I almost had numerous accidents this weekend on I-75 from people texting while driving at NIGHT! They kept swerving into my lane.

usually when i drive, i am way too lazy and 90% of the time im driving is with my knees and on cruise control... then add texting to that, and some bass, im pretty much in my own world..

but when its snowing i usually put at least 1 hand on the wheel and turn down the bass and dont text... lol..

when im high, its both hands on the wheel leaning forward trying not to freak myself out

when im drunk i just mumble shit and try to get home while attempting to follow the lines...

so far out of 3 years of driving, ive almost been in like 3-4 crashes or hitting signs or curbs, but my 7th sense kicked in and i realized i didn't want that, so i got around that shit

1 day i was on a 2 lane road 45mph speedlimit, and i was cruising 50 and looking to my left at a hill that was just burned by a fire, i decide to look in front of me and lone behold theres 2 cars stopped in the middle of the road tryng to turn across the street into a church, i initially hit the breaks, but i decided theres no way im stoping, i looked to the other lane t pass them, but had cars oncomming, i looked to the left a 20 foot dirt patch, i just kept my speed up hit the dirt went around the cars n kept going, still freaking out as i just got my new explorer and i was 16...

basically was going 50 bout to crash into abck of a stopped car, checked my options and hit a dirt patch and kept going, lucky me. lol

glad my situational awareness(SA) is pretty good..

I make phone calls when I am driving. I don't text so that's not a problem. I will keep using my phone when I'm driving too.

They couldn't enforce a ban on talking on a cell phone while driving.
