From what I understand is there is no way to use a stock GM xm module with an aftermarket HU. I have heard that there is a way to wire the Stock XM antenna to an aftermarket XM module. Does anyone know anything about this. Im planning on swapping out the stock navigation in my 04 Escalade EXT for a Pioneer avic-z2 and ill probably be buying the pioneer XM module but id like to use my stock antenna.

It will work fineand there is no cutting or soldering you just need to unplug it from the factory tuner and plug it into the aftermarket tuner. The connector is generally the same you just may need to remove some aditional plastic. The factory tuner is behind the glove box btw mounted vertically with the plugs facing towards the rear of the vehicle. You will see it just to the right of the airbag.

What you will have to do is get an aftermarket xm radio but you can still use the xm antenna. Cut and solider the old factory antenna wire to the new plug connector of your aftermarket radio.
if you cut it mine as well throw it away after.
