Using Radiators

OK now how hard or complicated is it to utilise radiators? From what I think I understand they load an enclosure very similiar to a port. They tune the enclosure. Is there a calculation to use in determining the tune? I know mass has something to do with it and is one of the things that interests me. It seems changing the tune and experimenting would be easier because you just add or take off mass. Also it would take up less space then some ported enclosures. Also in the application I am thinking on experimenting with has a 15" driver in it. Where I want to put the radiator though doesnt have room for a 15" radiator, so can I just use 2X 12" radiators and get good response?

I messed around with some earthquake stuff before. I didnt know how tune calculate tuning, but it did what I wanted. Hit LOOOOOOWWWWWW. Radiator should be larger than active sub, also should be on opposite side of active woofer. Box size can be smaller than it would be without the pr, depending on how low u want to go,or if you only listen to bass cd's all day.lol
