Using carpet as woofer gasket

Greets!

Just got in a prefab box in where the carpet runs flush with the woofer opening. My ID10 came in with a gasket.

Should I trim the carpet back and use the gasket?

Should I just use the carpet as a gasket?

Should I use both?

just use the carpet. Its a prefab anyways so it dosent really matter.

carpet seals just fine, its just semi-woven fabric that compresses pretty well.

just leave the gasket on and leave the carpet.

no just put it in the way you want the sub facing in the box max it even or w/e you gotta do and screw it in in a star pattern
