Using a mono amp with two speakers

I'm currently looking at a mono amp (Alpine 500w) to 2 Kicker Comp 12" speakers.

My brother told me to ask on here, since we are using a mono amp to power the two speakers and will be hooking up two positive wires and two negative wires, will that count as bridging and therefore split the ohms from 4 to 2?

Thanks.

no its not bridging but you should be fine, what model alpine? cause you might not get 500w
These are the stats on the Amp

* Alpine products do not ship to Puerto Rico

* Professional installation is strongly recommended for this product. Please visit your local Best Buy store for details.

* 500W RMS (continuous) power x 1 @ 2 ohms, 14.4V, 20Hz - 20kHz,

* 300W RMS (continuous) power x 1 @ 4 ohms, 14.4V, 20Hz - 20kHz,

* MOSFET power supply delivers clean power with minimal heat dispersion; thermal management control helps prevent overheating

* Adjustable low-pass crossover

* EQ and bass EQ controls for customizable audio; continuously adjustable gain control

* Gold-plated RCA inputs; speaker level inputs

* Top-mounted blue LED power/status indicator

* STAR circuitry

* Overcurrent, overvoltage and thermal protection

* Signal-to-noise ratio: 100dBA

I haz a dumb.
Man this is so confusing. So, do you have a better mid-range amp that you can suggest (and works for my setup)?

Yes there is a wire on either side of the speaker. One is black and one is red.
