Using a 10" Sub for Midbass?

Hi, I have a new amp that is 4 channel, it will do 75Wx2 + 300x1 @ 4ohm. I lack some midbass, and am wondering if I could use a single 10" on the 300W output for midbass? If this is possible, and would work, what freq should I be setting the 10" @ for mid bass?

Thanks.

Uhhh.. let's see where to start with this one..

YES, it will work, but it won't work like you think it will. Midbass is stereo, so it'll be a very unnatural midbass.

If you can find a good pair of 10s that can handle midbass, by all means rig those babies up and let us know how it goes! Otherwise, a pair of 8s off the 75x2 would probably do better.

Well, Here's the scoop. I cant use anythign besides Alpine gear. This is where the 10" Type-R comes into play. As they dont sell a midbass driver alone. I am staying all Alpine in my ride, so anything other than that is not really ideal.

SO back to having 2 10" subs for midbass ONLY -- Is this ok? I know you arent supposed to mix/match subs, but the 10" wouldnt really be used as a sub... Just really big mids //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif hahha..

What are the disadvantages to this?
