usb short circuit

hey, I got a P6000ub and according to its manual it seems like the usb is short circuited. It always says "check usb". The only other thing it could be is the device connected is messed up, but i've tried several different devices. Anddd the usb cord looks perfectly fine.. Any Ideas???

this what i tried so far:

- other devices

- removing the provided extension and connecting directly to the HU

- resetting the HU

- removing the harness completely letting it sit for a while and reconnecting it

everything else seems to be working fine other than the usb, any ideas?

usb cards are really not that expensive. at least ones for my pc's weren't.

how do i check if the usb power supply?? on a pioneer HU
