you've got a point there...back in the late 80's-early 90's there was such a drive to make better quality products, now its all about money...not to take anything away from the amps of today but there was so many companies back then that made kick *** amps

if you want that 2000d i'd shop around for a better price. my friend got it for 225 authorized, good amp nonetheless. 450 sounds like a decent price for the sundown though.

I can't speak for all US Amps.
But I used to own a md2, and the sundown amp I have now I like a lot more. But for $350 you probably aren't talking about the md2.

The sundown I wire to .5 ohms no problem, but the md2 I used to have got pretty warm at .5. Also, the 1500d seems to have a little more juice than the md2 had. But that was probably just because of the stock electrical system I was running them off of. With proper electrical systems, they probably would have put out right around the same amount of power.

Is that the md2 that I now have?

i gotta ask this,

the orion 2500D can be had used for $400, does 2500 wrms @ 1ohm and has a good reputation, why go any other way?

Nope, I used a different md2 to test out how stable they were. Yours I used to power a pair of mags, but I only ran it at 2 ohms.

I will have to agree on some of the other posts.

The Sundown amp wasn't made to be the cheapest amp to get you 1000rms. There are plenty of cheaper amps that will do that. The sundown is most likely built better than any of those other amps, and will be stable at a lower impendence, and probably put out more power as well, but if all you are looking for is 1000rms at the cheapest you can get it, then the sundown probably isn't the best choice.
