Nice amp:D

I am 90% sure it is not what the endplate says though. I believe you have a VLX400 which has been rebadged to say VLX200.

I have a VLX400 which I know for certain is exactly that.. and your "guts" match my "guts".

If you look closely at the circuit board, it has the real potential power written on it. I bet yours says "5000 watts" as mine does. If so, I believe you have a VLX400.

If someone has evidence to the contrary, I'd love to see it.

also, I can dig up some old CA Mag buyers guides and US Amps brochures. {might have to do that later today}

I was thinking that too, because the VLX-200 only has two transformers whereas the 400 has four, and he has four... I know the endplates are interchangeable so...

If I'm Pawn Star Rick I would call in an US Amps specialist to come take a look but I'm 99% sure that's a VLX-400. Good score! You better take care of it or I shall come and burn your house down haha.

I've wanted one of the VLX amps for years, man. Congrats.

If I ever get one, I'll customize the heatsink and have all the original wiring replaced with the highest quality stuff I can get my hands on...

there was a guy that posted in the old school thread that wanted extremely long amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

How I would approach it is install your new amplifier and start using it. Install a voltage gauge and if you see your voltage lowering then add...

Additinally, no need to reference "max" anything as those specs are useless. Most of know how to look at specs for a given speaker, amp, HU, etc...

You don't need two amps. The speakers come with crossovers to help protect the tweeters.

Perhaps you changed something without mentioning it here? Maybe a loose turn on line? I dunno man...but we'll take it. Hopefully it keeps working. 👍
