US amps Merlin Plexi upgrade! PICS

I got the idea from the US amps AX series. I removed the metal plate from under the amps and made my own plexi window. Cut them to size, painted the border and I think they look way better. Adds more class to them. Altough in most installs this wont be visible but Its nice to know that my Merlins are the only ones that have a plexi window to show tEH guts.

pretty sweet. i was going to do that to my precision power pc2350, but like you said, it won't be visible the way i have it mounted.

Or maybe they just want you to think that its a huge amp...I mean there are advantages as far as heat disapation, but as far as leaving what looks to be 3-3.5 inches from the edge of the board to the heatsink is a little overkill if they are using it for heat disapation.

Seriously though, thow a fan in there and vent the sides if you are going to leave that much empty space...

yeah. i would maybe buy a few clear or black washers and space it so there's a small gap all the way around.

Im pretty sure I wont use the plexi when I install them. Was just a little bored and thought theyll look great. Just for eye candy. Didnt really take long to do it.
