US Amps- MD vs. Xterminator

I know the MD series is a better amp, but for subwoofer use will it be noticeable difference with the same power. XT 4000 and MD2 both are rated at 1500x1 at 1 ohm. And the XT 2000 and MD1 are 1200 at 1 ohm. For use on a single 12 is it worth the extra 100-150 bucks for the MD. Has anyone had any experience with the Xterminator. I cant figure US amps to make anything lousy but you never know. +
