Hey guys, Got a couple new US amps IS2080s to power my frontstage. I had them two days and now one is stuck in protect.
The only thing is does is sit in protect and flash to power (normal) and play sound for a split second, does this about every 10-15 seconds. The other one I have is completely fine. I checked wiring, ran new wire, new fuses, new RCA's, haven't tried new speaker wire but it does it even when there is no load. I'm stumped. It's not the ground as all my amps are grounded to the same point (second battery, then to frame) and its not the power wire as I tried the same wire off the working amp and i get the same story.
I took the back cover off and all the FET's are fine, no smell of anything burnt and nothing looks burnt, nothing broke, or loose (as far as I can see) nothing pulled out either. It wasn't overheated as it's been -3 to -30 the last couple of days.
any ideas? I emailed US amps but i won't hear back from them for a couple days.. Can anybody recommend a person/place to have this repaired? I like the amp, puts out good power for a frontstage and they look nice to boot.
