I have a new 2013 Ford Focus ST with the Sony nav, my touch sound system with sub. While the factory system is OK. I want better. What is the best way to upgrade? I am looking at speakers, amps, sub(s) the whole nine yards. I want to keep my factory head unit. I want Pugsley to sound great.

Thoughts, Ideas???

Thanks

Tim

go to focusfanatics.com They will offer a lot of advice especially when dealing with a brand new car. Yes we do need a budget before we start making suggestions and if you have the ability to instal this yourself. Fellow focus driver here

I'm upgrading my 2013 Ford Focus Titanium right now. Going with CDT HD61a components (~$200/set--found mine for $150 and $170) in the doors, a JL XD600/6 (~$330) to replace the factory amp (dimensions almost identical to the factory amp), an LCQ-1 for LOC & equalization (~$180--found mine for $130) and a Kicker 10CVT8 (~$75; seems to be a good fit for the factory enclosure). The XD600/6 will give you 75x4 for the door components and 200x1 for a 4 ohm sub. The XD 700/5 would give you 100 watts RMS more power for the sub and more if you go with 2ohm for about $30 more and is the same size, but I wanted a little more channel flexibility in the future with the XD600/6 and am not looking for SPL anyway. I'm still looking at other options for the sub though. I think the sub enclosure is 3.5" deep inside with.35 cu ft volume.

Trumpet and others have gently used, B-stock, and clearance items in the classifieds here if you want to get more value for your purchases. There is also a section for people wanting to buy (WTB).

I just heard from JL today that the Stealthbox for the Focus hatchback should be out by the end of the month. They are taking pre-orders now.

We are currently taking orders for the SB-F-FOC5DR/10TW3 – 2012+ Ford Focus Sdr Hatchback with the new upcoming 10TW3-4. The SKU# is 94560

We are expecting the subwoofers to be available by the end of this month.

So, you can place your order with any authorized JL Audio dealer in your area and wait for it to be built and shipped.

You can expect to pay anywhere from $599.95 to $649.95, based on what the dealer has going on at his store at the time, sale wise.
