Hey guys,

newbie here and am looking to upgrade everything. My current "budget system" just dont cut it. I currently have a old pioneer deck with polk 6.5s in the doors, kicker 5.25s rears, 10" fosgate p2 behind the seat powered by a kenwood 200rms.

I already have plans dampen all the panels and bodywork and am looking for SQ accompanied with some boom (when wanted). I listen to everything (trance to country and everything inbetween).

Looking to do components in the doors and not sure yet with the rears. As far as the sub goes im limited with space and am concerned with mounting depths on the sub. I am a carpenter by trade so i can fab a custom box but im still limited by space behind the seat. Current box is maybe 7" bottom depth and 4" top depth. As far as amps it all depends on the speakers.

I appreciate any input and suggestions anyone may have on any of this.

Thanks

cdt hd 61 a components,on a american bass mini vfl 4 channel amp ,also an ab mono block 1250 watt rms mini vfl amp ,with 2 10s behind the seat , or even 2 8" subs in a ported box. audio technix o gauge amp kit.i can sell you every thing.

only have room for a single anything. box goes behind the driver seat and the amp or amps behind the passenger. Ill post some pics of the layout tomorrow.

Thanks

I think i want to start in the doors with some components and then the sub. Im not sure if anyone recomends a 5 channel amp or if spitting it would be better. I guess that all depends on speakers. i think i have 4 gauge in there now. not sure though, Ill check tomorrow. 10pm here and i dont want to walk across the parking lot to the my garage.

see what brand of kit too.i gave you a component suggestion too, they are on sale for a week or so for 275 then they go back up to 349 .if you want a 4 channel amp too ,then you'll be spending around $1000 for all new except for maybe the subs.

pics of the current setup for space reference. Current amp is a kenwood kac 8101d and the sub is a fosgate p2s410. box dimension is 15 1/4 tall x 22 1/4 long x 8 (bottom) and 4 3/4 (top). Is it possible to get more out of the amp with a lower ohm sub. The wiring to the amp is a cheap 5 gauge kit.

IMO, you should look to a pair of 8" subs in a couple of small ported boxes on each side, maybe try to mount them low and thin the box a touch to avoid that sub cone/surround indention in the back of your seat.

Dayton Audio RSS210HO-4 8" Reference HO Subwoofer 4 Ohm 295-458 - x2 ..good SQL subs

on this:

WoofersEtc.com - P1000.1 - Precision Power Monoblock 2000 Watts Max Class D Amplifier a good, solid 1000w amp. small and efficient

I would concentrate on the front doors and locating the tweeters for good imaging using some real good components like these:

WoofersEtc.com - CTX65CS - Image Dynamics 6.5" Component Speaker System

on a good little 2 channel like this:

WoofersEtc.com - P600.2 - Precision Power 2-Channel 1200 Watt Max Class D Amplifier another good, solid amp that is very compact and efficient.

with the 8's, you should be able to build the boxes short enough to mount an amp above each one on each side of the center console.
