So I found a place that is gonna upgrade my alt for a dam good price. SO... I cant afford to get a really good battery, AND a static battery for the trunk, so my question is, do I...

A. get a decent power battery under the hood (is deep cycle essential???) im guessing so.....

B. Get a regular $80 dollar battery I found with 750CCA and 930CA ANDDDDDD get a batcap $800

C. After upgrading the alt, if I have a decent battery in the car already, can I just add the BATCAP and call it a day...

help me out here guys, I am trying to do this the right way, but I cant upgrade the alt, upgrade the battery, AND add a batcap.... I can only afford to do 2/3 of these....

How much power are wanting to run?
Without knowing all the info, I'd say:

Alt, decent battery: deep cycle or agm, 1/0 wiring throughout including big 3

ok ok... I have a 200A fuse under the hood, and I have NEVER blown it...

I am running a MM 3000.1, and an alpine F545 for the 4 channel. I have 0GA. run through the car.

change the blinker fluid and muffler bearings?
I sent my gf to a napa to get muffler bearings for her car once. What is your goal with your system? Is this just a daily driver set up, or were you thinking of trying to compete? You ultimate goal for your system can get you better answers to your questions.

If you just want to have a pounding system for driving around with no plans on competing then go with the 180 amp alt, the big three upgrade and a Yellow Top under the hood. When you have money if you want to add something to the rear then look into something from Kinetik, a lot cheaper than some of those Batcap's. If the 180 amp alt going to be new, or are you having yours rebuilt? Make sure it has at least 100 amps at idle and the 180 amps at 2000 rpm. Some rebuilds will put out half the amps of the stock alt, making the upgrade pointless.

good lord, i dont have $1000 to spend on that battery

Right now im trying to figure out my problem of my battery terminals being reversed... takes away about 90% of the market for me.

I figured out what im doin... im gonna get the battery cables extended so I can widen my options as to what will fit in my car...THEN i will probably get the yellowtop that I wanted in the first place, OR maybe a Kinetik 1400 if I can find one for a decent price..

I called kinetik, he said all their batteries can be used to start cars, and they are ALL deep cycle. BUT after spending 3-400 on the ALT. and another 100 getting the battery cables extended, I really dont want to spend more than 120 bucks on the battery...which is why im looking for a used battery. There are TONSS of yellowtops on ebay for under 100, so I DONT WANNA HEAR IT!!

if your tight on cash and want to get the most preformance out of it all man you need to get the battery, and the big three before anything else you do. big three is really easey and cheap aswell if you are capable of doing a oil change you can do the big three imo(and the battery install) after you do those two i bet you have money to do another upgrade aswell, in wich case the bat cap is the last thing you will ever need and imo you will never need it, alty is cool but becarful what you buy man alot of those alty's have a worse amp capabilaty then the factory one you had (at idle)before you bought a 6-700 doller alty. running a 2nd battery is a plus but at the same time is a drain on your alt(if you choose to not upgrade the alt i dont recomend the 2nd battery) becouse the 2nd battery is only really for running your tunes while the car is off unless you have the best spl system around.

Why the hell would it cost you $100 to extend your battery cables? Look into Iraggi alts, they might be cheaper than what your looking into.

http://stores.ebay.com/Iraggi-Alternator-and-Electronics

And a kinetik 1400 would run you about $188 shipped from Indo Audio on Ebay.

alright.. decided what im going to do. Im first getting the alt. Im only getting it upgraded to 200A (maybe 180... they said that might be as big as they can rebuild it to) (rebuild through a local place who sends it to somewhere in Indy, only like 250 shipped in and out) THEN im going to get my battery terminal extended..THEN im either going to get a kinetik 1400R, OR one of the more powerful yellowtops.... From lookin at the pics of the 1400R though..it looked like the terminals were different than your typical battery terminal..?? no??

I have to get the terminal extended because NO batteries fit my car, as far as positive on the left, neg. on the right... EXCEPT the HC1400R R R
