Upgrade / Replace tweeters on my Alpine Type S component set?

I have Alpine Type S 6.5" components they sound good except the passenger side tweeter breaks up and distorts at high volumes sometimes.. Its really annoying... And they don't get as ear peircing loud as i'd like...

Can I add whatever tweeters I want to the crossover?

What tweeters do you guys suggest?

Ive found that many threads go unanswered on this forum. People also like to jump all over you for asking questions. Ive found that reading here is easier to learn stuff than to actually ask a ? , I would look up tweeters on woofersetc, crutchfield,onlinecarstereo, etc, then read reviews. I heard the alpine tweeters and liked them, so if it was me Id replace them with originals. Good luck

get earthquake screamers they will be loud for you but put them on around 100 watts a peice

Your going to have to learn where the Tweeters are Xover at now if you want to use the same Xover. Then try to find a tweeter that shares similar xover points. If you dont want to do that PM Don about some rainbow cal 25 tweets that come with xovers. (unless you can do all this on your deck)

I rather just fire off an angry e-mail to alpine and buy a set of cdt components.

No, you cannot arbitrarily pick a new tweeter as it will sound like shiiiite.
