UPgrade/Install on brother's TSX.

So my brother was on a little vacation over the weekend and left his car at my place to do some upgrading to what he already had in his car.

I switched out his pair of Arc Kar 6.5"s that were power by the stock amplifier, for a pair of 5.25" CX52s and x-overs, powered by a Soundstream VGA 400.2.

So he now has a mix comp set with ID mids and CDT tweets from the HD line.

since he is using his stock head unit, i had to bypass the stock amplifier and convert the speaker output into RCAs. for this i used y-cables and tapped into the radio harness:

as for the RCAs, I used a pair of these RCAs:

I originally wanted to put CX62s in there, but they would not fit w/o hacking up the door. the motor itself wouldn't even fit through the stock hole.

my buddy hung out with me throughout the whole install:

new spot for the tweets, which is the vents on the dash. got the idea from azbass. the stock location was waaay too close to the window and just didn't sound right. I didn't even notice the vents until this weekend.

that's pretty much it. In the near future, we might throw some deadener wherever we can and upgrade the main power wire. it's currently 4awg. need to throw some 1/0awg in there to match the big-3 wires used. also, I'll most likely make a beauty panel for the box. the sub amp will be switched out soon, too. My bro is currently looking for another one.

The extra compartment under it will not fit a the extra HU i have either. My brother said he's seen it done in the acura forums, but i don't know how they did it.

i was thinking about the RF 360.2

gotta get the $$$$$ first.

After adding the 2 channel amp, the tweeters started to scream. he originally had his treb set at +3, now it's at -1 even after the 4-6db attenuation from the ID x-overs.

yes they are. My gf had 3 of 'em, but that's the only one that hangs around while I install.
