upgrade alternator?

so my nissan 200sx has an 80 amp alternator

right now i just got one type r pulling 300watts

but am thinking about upgrading to a 15 at 2000watts

so, first step, big 3? new alternator? both? kinetic? or just a yellow top?

for 2000 watts you will probably need the works do you have a good battery under the hood?

try Big 3 and yellow top up front, atleast 0/1 for wiring (first).

lets say a Hifonics Brutus 2000 watt, you'll want a ~160 amp alt, 1 or 2 yellow tops, 0/1 or bigger wiring to be on the safe side.

What sub do you want? If you only run 1000 watts you probably could get away with just the big three and a bigger battery(maybe not even)

It really depends on how much you want to spend

yea, most likely the MD.2D, just depends if i can find one at a good price when i'm ready to buy...

i got a new job, i'm making good money now, so i figure, $1500 at the most, $1000 would be better...

but i'm a daily driver, i won't be entering comps or anything

since you don't seem to know that much about audio, and are talking about a mechanic, you may want to stick to the 1000watt option and just get a better battery & 1/0 big 3 to save on the labor charges

Id stick with 1000 watts then

You could get a really nice sub. All the wiring you need, nice box and a good battery for under that

If I were you I would check out the Fi.Q with a kicker 1000.1 amp
