Upfiring Subs in trunk...OPINIONS NEEDED!

Just wondering what the advantages/disadvantages were if i upfired (2) 15" subs n the trunk of my maxima. I don't have the clearance under the rear deck to fit a 15" unless i cut my torsion bars, which i'm willing to do, but didn't know how an upfiring sub would be compared to a rear firing. All of ur opinions would b greatly appreciated.

sucked in my max. bes output was rear facing. Never had dual 15s firing up. THe subs i did upfire were

2-10l7s sealed

1- 12l7 ported

2-1500spls sealed

1-1500spl ported

3 1500 spls ported

1 polk momo 10

with the box on all of those the best was firing to the rear or all the way at the back firing into the lid. That was the best in car response. my max is a 98 dont know if you have a 4th gen.

Yea I have a 4th gen...mine is a '96. Sucks to hear that they didn't perform well up-firing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. I guess I need to cut the torsion bars, and do an in trunk build.

my subs fire rear but my ports fire up and I actually get louder to the dash then when I had the ports firing to the rear. direct shot to the old 6x9 holes to the cab of the car, I bet speakers firing up would have the same effect as long as you give them room to breathe.

Make sure teh box is the width of the port away from the trunk lid when facing em up. Its less cancellation that way(so i hear).

i have 2 15''s Alphasoniks and they are firing up in a 87 Regal...its the loudest system ive owned..but i also have alot more room in the trunk then you do so i imagine this plays a big role in it

my friend put 2 mojo15's n a bandpass in a 97max..and the port was thru the armrest

Do subs up, port side (towards the pass or drivers side).

I have a cop car with a deep trunk mine sounds better facing towards the trunk rather than up!
