Unusual wire terminals???

I don't know if any of those who will look at this thread saw my thread about the diminutive KAC-322 two-channel amp I recently acquired.

The little guy works and sounds surprisingly good considering it's only rated at a meager 15w X 2 @ 4 Ohms. My problem is that sometime or another in its life someone, whether by accident or design, managed to rip the power cable out of the wiring harness. (the amp takes a flat Molex connector for power, ground, remote turn-on, and speaker outputs) So I need one of these oddball wire terminals so that I might fix it.

So - does anyone know where I might be able to find one of these or at the very least the proper term for them so that I might be able to search for myself?

Radio Shack doesn't carry them and neither does my other local electronics parts specialty supplier. I had a browse through PE as well but didn't find anything like it but it's very possible I was simply looking in the wrong place.

Anyone got any ideas?

You're absolutely correct.

The blue wire pictured (remote turn-on input) will snap right back into its corresponding slot in the harness plug. I temporarily pulled it out of the harness for illustration purposes.

However, what I'm actually needing is another terminal just like the one currently attached to the remote input wire so that I may replace the power cable which is at this moment MIA from the harness entirely (as stated in the opening post).

Have any old HU harnesses laying around?
Try them... pull out the pins...

nG
While that's a sound suggestion and one that hadn't occurred to me unfortunately the only old HU harnesses I have around go to old HUs that still work. As such I don't care to vampirize their harnesses just yet...

i may have an extra harness ill look in the morning! free of charge
If it's a HU harness, while I appreciate the thought and the impending effort, don't bother.

I just had a look at the harness for my old Kenwood tape deck (which is essentially the same as all of the current Kenwood harnesses less two functions) and the basic design is the same but the little terminals are much smaller than the harness for my little amp.

HU harnesses are designed to slide onto considerably smaller contact pins than the plug for the two-channel I'm trying to get sorted. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

ok! good luck in your search. maybe contact kenwood:)

ive seen those around before but i cant remember where. I think i might have seen some of those in one of my grandpaws old toolboxes but they are packed up in a storage building. and when i say packed i mean packed.

I work at a parts store. looking at our assortment, the name on the boxes say Female OE slide terminal. hope this helps

Do you sell any that appear to be the same size as the one I pictured above? (I can get exact measurements right quick if that would help)

I just did a search on PE for Female OE Slide Terminal and it returned the big donut ("0") as far as results //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

used in I know for sure, 80's and 90's Chrysler & Jeep wiring harnesses, maybe others too
So - if I were to get a harness adapter for a vehicle that fits in the group you've posted I should just be able to rob one of the wires out of that and slide it into the plug for my little Kenwood amp?

Man - this is more trouble than it's worth for a 30w amp! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
