Unit is driving me nuts!

I've got a Pioneer DEH-P710BT installed in a 2003 F150. This is my back-up vehicle - used primarily on weekends for fun. The Pioneer never seems to hold it's settings! I have to reprogram everything after the truck has set unused for a few days - bluetooth pairings, channels lists, other settings. I paid a shop to have it installed and can take it back to them but it's been this way for over a year and was hoping there was an easy fix on my end. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

on the back of the head unit there is a yellow wire which is usually the back up to battery wire and it is what holds all the settings....but u say the settings get erased if the car sits for a day or 2?

Has it always been losing those settings, if so, your constant yellow if probably not hooked up or is tied into the red ACC wire, even if the it used to hold settings I would still look back there to see if it just came disconnected...If the yellow is connected correctly, meter it and see if your getting a constant 12v, if not, probably a blown fuse somewhere...if none of this stuff fixes the problem, the internal memory on the HU is probably gone bad

This morning I started the truck and the unit was fine. On my way to get coffee - five minutes into the trip - the unit shut itself down completely. When I restarted, NO SETTINGS! Everything gone again - I just set it all up last night! I didn't notice anything going on with the truck. Lights seemed fine and I didn't notice any power issues. Now what? BTW, thanks very much for the help.
