I sent my claim form on this passing sunday, but i also a couple of minutes ago submitted my claim form online with EDD Webcert.

I looked at my claim form history and they havent gotten the claim form yet so i desided to do it online for faster processing.

Would this affect me any way possible?

It wouldnt hurt to give a call, and let someone know what is going on, so you dont get rejected for a double claim, that kinda makes you look like a scammer.Im sure if and when the other claim goes through, they will/may reject your claims of both without hesitation.Ive never had to file,Yet,but Ive been at facilities that take these type of claims, and the people involved accepting/denying claims, and here to tell you, they can care less about you,and your issues as well, and look for ways to deny any claim.Make a call in the morning, and get it taken care of.

thanks rebel.

i just looked on the edd website about it and it said there that ''it may delay the claim'' if i had already made my claim through mail.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Anyone know the "lunch break laws"
are you asking what the laws are regarding them having to allow x amount of time for lunch based on how many hours you work, or laws coined "lunch break laws"?

am gonna go ahead and call first thing in the morning
good move. they are like insurance companies. insurance companies spend more on keeping you from getting paid than they pay out. they don't care bout you. you are just another government leach to them, but giving them a call is the best move to straiten things out right away and will likely not cause any problems.

Like if you work a set amount of time say 8 hours. Can your job force you to take a break an hour and a half to two hours into your shift and make you work the last 6 straight? Your break is intended for lunch purposes not bc labor is high or that's how they do things.....

Under federal law, your employer does not have to provide lunch or coffee breaks. Also, your employer does not have to pay you for lunch breaks that you are given.

However, your state might have mandatory meal breaks. The requirements vary, but many employees are guaranteed a 30 minute meal period per shift. To qualify, your shift will generally need to be 6 hours, and maybe even 8 hours long.

These states require meal periods: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada

So in va I'm not required to be given a break at all?

Let me specify better. If I come in at 8 am and get off at 5pm wtf am I being forced to take a "break" at 9 or 930?!?! I'd like to use my break for what it is intended for. An actual break from work. I don't need a d@mn break an hour into work. It's crazy

well, you should call your local department of labor on this one. that's kinda fuzzy about when to take lunch. here, if you work something like 36hrs/week, or 8hrs/day, you get your lunch and 2 15min breaks on the clock by law. been a while since i worked in town for somebody, because i work 7-12's at a mine. you are allowed to skip lunch, but you do have the option. another tool to nudge your boss, is to tell them you cannot go 6hours without a meal. if it's a reasonable request in your job, they know that they may be forced to comply. i know that's something that i could use if it ever came up as an issue. that is why i take a bunch of food on a road call, and stuff my face while driving. technically not "working" while driving, but still get paid to work through lunch.

More states have lunch laws than the list provided above. For example, I know in Iowa if you work 6 hours or more, the state law requires your employer to give you a lunch break (and you *must* take it), under penalty of a significant fine. In Illinois I believe its 6.5 hours.
