underwater speakers

let me know when u find out. cuz im going to build an underwater city submerged in a giant bio-dome that sits in the pacific ocean and extends over a 100 mile radius. then i shall build another bio-dome in the atlantic ocean when the pacific ocean starts bringing in currency. its going to be populated with all walks of life and will be the new place to be free in, not america. i will be the head honcho and we will live in a communist government. we'll have those antlantis speakers placed every quarter-mile or so, so when i want someone to swim to my office the whole city will hear me roar. that is all. for now. thank you. bye.

nice smartass remarks. but again il try to stay on topic. beat i see what your saying but what about taking off the heat sink and sealing the amp board like you would a box and then sealing the cover with silicon on the outside edges?

The problem is going to be keeping the amps components cool, smothering them in silicon will make it water resistant but will remove any chance of cooling.

The components themselves aren't what is prone to water damage. Its mostly the leads on the components and the traces on the PC board itself that are vulnerable to corrosion from water exposure. The Memphis marine series amps have the board and the heatsink coated in appliance epoxy to make them water resistant. They should work well but they are kinda big.

im putting this system in my 06 vx140 4 stroke yamaha.

helotexi- i have been looking at the memphis amps and the clarion amps.

and if everything under the cone is what i have to worry about then im not really seeing as how that will be sealed off

thanks for your help so far guys
