under powering subs

Back on subject - OP did you get the information you needed?

Sending a lower amount of power to a woofer isnt what's going to fry it - its what the user of the woofer is going to do to attempt to get "more" from it. The power itself will not kill it.

Understandable - yet here's my thing, once again.
I say that priority requires wisdom in order to be diligent. Sure, your dog will shit before she eats, because she has to shit. That's how it goes.

It could go either way, it depends on how you look at it - and that I can definitely understand. You can either look at it as it's what you want/need to do, or you can look at it from a viewpoint of results vs effort. 10 years to solve an insigificant issue vs 20 years to solve one that may change things as we know it(or at least push it to the right direction).

Then again, the insignificant find could have the same great impact in the future, you just never know.

Arguing with myself, sorry. Time for bed. Adieu
Again this is why the worth of research is subjective.

This is why some people will tear apart the living room looking for the remote control instead of just going up to the TV.

While to you, 20 years of research on why rubber balls bounce might be deemed insignificant and unwise compared to 5 years of cancer research, but if i really want to understand how a ball bounces than my principle function on the earth is to fulfill my own desire for self-enlightenment. and it would be un-wise for me to engage in an un-fulfilling yet more productive course of action.

Of course, I would call it wise to then examine the reasoning behind my priorities of understanding the reason a ball bounces. but you get the point regardless, the lines are never clear. What might be right for you might not be right for some.

Is it wiser to live 100 years eating terrible tasting but healthy food.

Or 50 years eating delicious but unhealthy food.

Well I'd say the answer is that both are equally as wise or unwise depending on priority.

Thus, measuring the results of research by effort is a fallacy and variable depending on an entire universe of subjective circumstances.

Everything is subjective. Everything.

Including our conversation.

And including the fact that I swore I was going to bed four hours ago, I'm buying a new vehicle tomorrow and I have military things to tend to. Instead, I'm sititng here talking out of my *** because I'm too tired to comprehend what I'm writing.

Explain that to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Goodnight forum

1) Did anyone mention the fact that when a coil "burns" the crystal structure changes?

2) When materials heat up, the bond length expands.

Vibrations/Phonons/Electrons/etc travel really well in close-packed structures (FCC), but when they get diverted, or have to travel over bigger gaps, they slow down dramatically. Enough change, and the conductivity changes dramatically.

On a more personal note:

There's no need to flex nut$, if you really understand the stuff. Cot, it's obvious you're a smart guy, but there will always be people who know more. Get over it, I did a long time ago, and that's why I enjoy asking questions on this site.

I'n not bragging, but I studied material science at Georgia Tech, and am far from understanding anything fully. That's the balls-end of research is that you are always behind, and someone will always be smarter than you. Just contribute to the future and be proud of yourself.

Everything is subjective. Everything.
Correct,

and thats the reason i said your reasoning was questionable.

You were defining wisdom by subjective terms which is fallacious. it can't logically be done.

I defined wisdom by objective terms by attributing to subjective self-interpretations of individual goals.

simply put, i am as wise as i choose to be. Your opinion has no bearing on my wisdom.

a collective agreement by many on the level of wisdom of an individual is almost totally the result of common factors of social conditioning, or partially of various anomalies yielding the same resultant opinions.

That sounds alot more complicated than it is, i'll re-word it if anyone cares, otherwise i'm going to bed, lol

you could use one of these...

Why can't you go back to running multiple sized subs and saying that JL watts are louder than other watts? You were much more entertaining then.

Anyone who thinks underpowering a sub will break it is an IDIOT..

I suppose that means that i wont be able to EVER turn down my music because it will break my sub, so that means it either has to be on FULL VOLUME OR OFF, no in between..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Wow, why are yall arguing with a search engine?
Just click his name, than Find threads by user.

More than enough info to explain how he has all his answers now.
Find my definition of wisdom on a search engine and i'll give you a cookie. Despite the fact that you'd like to think Ignorance is synonymous with unintelligent you are terribly wrong.

#1 about the multi-sized subs, I've not yet heard a correct explanation for why they are a bad idea. Yes there are good reasons, but very few people know and understand them. Its actually more of just a forum bandwagon and its kinda sad.

#2 Most of my outrageous famous quotes were the product of misinformation by trusted sources. In a perfect world, who better to trust about JL equipment than JL dealers? Ignorance is simply the biggest factor in human life. each one of you have more of it than anything else. It's easy to be ignorant. in fact, at one point in time it is necessary to be ignorant about everything. Do you laugh and make fun of babies for struggling with their ABC's? no. because you understand that there is a learning process involved. so what a shock that my first quotes several years ago would not be very informed. You people are just brilliant //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
