Unconstitutional

I see a mischaracterization going on here.

...The gov't has to fix it's part. The gov't is the single largest employer and must take an active role at least as far as it's own employees and dependants go. As such a big buyer it can use it's leverage to improve the health care for those millions who work for the gov't, and by doing so hopefully improve the framework of how millions of others can get affordable health care...
I haven't been following this thread lately, so I dont know your political views much beyond what's on this last page. But I will say I get the feeling you are, or are at least viewed here, as liberal. But this above comment I quoted is an extremely, extremely, capitalistic view. And imo, an interesting perspective. The govt being involved in improving the healthcare system, but from the standpoint of a consumer, not a policy maker. Like I said, interesting perspective, and I thank you for making me think about it.

If I could change one thing about politics in this country, it would be to reduce/eliminate the tendency for people (and politicians) to portray their opponents in the most extreme way possible. Im guilty of it too, even within this thread... calling people socialists and anarchists. Ive said much the same previously though, when I suggested our two political parties (both of them) use this tactic to scare people into taking their side, and even to mask their own incompetence and corruption. The idea of 'ya maybe we suck, but the other party is down right evil'. "Death panels", "socialists wanting to rob your wallet", "war mongers"... we hear this crap every single day, from our friends, our colleagues, our 'news media', even from our own government. It drags us down, both sides. Break the cycle, try to empathize, try to relate. Try not to demonize, try not to believe everything you hear from the side you like. The world would be a much better place.

I think the Dumbocrats are whiney, assfaced, spending crazed, America hating motherfuckers who deserve to fry in the bowels of HELL. How's that? Better? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Are you off your meds? Your a babaling about shit. I did not mention wanting things "fixed" with socialism or anything else. You have no rational debate so you just vomit what ever you heard on tv last night. It would be moronic, like you, to suggest that the single largest employer in the country should not participate in the health care debate. Fucking retard. You just foam at the mouth anti gov't shit. I guess that's from chocking on Sarah Palins cock so much.
I'm sure we disagree politically, but at least someone other than me finally admits that audiolife is full of completely retarded bullshit.

Yes a statist moonbat would think that way....fine by me
He's on your side's side, bro. He's not a liberal, he just isn't afraid to call out your bullshit for what it is (bullshit) because he needs allies to argue against me. Probably because he just hasn't met me yet, though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

He is left of center....rather obvious and he never read anything I went into detail about because he said I never did LMAO..then ignored when I started to.

Oh btw are you mad @ the Public Sector unions in Ohio, Wisconsin and Indiana?

I agree, but the idea that the political system will change for the better is very slim. We are in no way a democracy and our republic system is failing quickly. There will be a change in the near future, but I don't think it is in anyway what any of us want it to be. Only thing left is a Dictatorship(we are not far from it now), which will also fail horribly.

As for health care. No single answer is correct.

There is more to it then just then a simple yes/no. With out their collective bargaining rights there would be many other adverse issues to rise.
Jimmy Carter gutted Public Sector Union bargaining rights in the late 70's and FDR was totally against it because the unions hold a monopoly on the work that tax payers pay for. Unions also take union dues and funnel it to their favorite candidates to get better contracts...they even try to do it illegally so they do not have to pay taxes on it. Usually when the IRS comes a knocking the unions end up paying hungreds of thousands of dollars in back taxes for these contributions.

Um...you realize corporations do this for republican candidates too, right?
