Ugh, selling capacitor.. do i just...?

Electrical Engineer professor once connected the terminals with a wire on a fairly large cap in class...needless to say it discharged //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

(he did it on purpose btw)

in other words yes you should have discharged it... otherwise your risking a fire on the plane or truck, if anything somewhat conductive touches the two terminals... big spark, big fire...

What do you mean huh? Do you know how a cap works? If you take a piece of wire and connect the terminals it's going to discharge very quickly...as in a spark. It's just like connecting the terminals on a battery except the cap will discharge much much quicker...

So you're saying all i have to do is connect a piece of wire to both terminals to discharge it? Even though its been out of my car for a month or two?

And no i dont know how a cap works, thats y i took it out.

Oh, lol. Yea to discharge a cap all you have to do is connect the terminals...though I don't know how big your cap is, keep in mind the bigger the cap, the bigger the spark :p

eh give it a shot, just don't look directly at it...and if you don't come back on here, we'll know what happened //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
