Ugh, selling capacitor.. do i just...?

Selling a cap to some kid off craigslist. When i took it out i simply just did that. Was i suposed to some how "uncharge" the cap? Or when he installs it to his car does he just need to use the resistor again or just plug it straight up?

in other words yes you should have discharged it... otherwise your risking a fire on the plane or truck, if anything somewhat conductive touches the two terminals... big spark, big fire...

What do you mean huh? Do you know how a cap works? If you take a piece of wire and connect the terminals it's going to discharge very quickly...as in a spark. It's just like connecting the terminals on a battery except the cap will discharge much much quicker...

So you're saying all i have to do is connect a piece of wire to both terminals to discharge it? Even though its been out of my car for a month or two?

And no i dont know how a cap works, thats y i took it out.

Oh, lol. Yea to discharge a cap all you have to do is connect the terminals...though I don't know how big your cap is, keep in mind the bigger the cap, the bigger the spark

It was a 2 farad 20VDC 24 Volt surge
