im waiting to install my DC alt when it arrives, i was afraid since i have a subaru, but it seems rather easy, just gotta tighten a belt afterBecause the love for bass? We're all bassheads here and to power a high power amp you need a HO alternator there's no question about that. How much we're willing to sacrifice for the hobby is up to each person. That's why I'm getting rid of my honda and getting a tahoe. Import cars make it a b*^tch to change the alternator //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Why not? Car audio is my stress release and brings me joy. I bought my car for the gas mileage when gas prices were almost $4 a gallon. Yea its small but I still have 2 18"s and thats more than a lot of people with way bigger cars. Ive daily driven my car walled off for over 3 years now. You get used to it.My question for you is, why? Do you have ludicrous amounts of time and money to spend on something so wasteful lol. I can see how important spl is for you but, don't people usually do builds in a car with room in it....?
not intending to bash you, but there has to be something that makes it worth going through all that.
Yep.. Took me 9 hours by myself. Had to use a come-along to pull the motor forward and up while I put it in from under the car.thats just plain retarded engineering right there.
Alternator companies that can't make good power at idle use smaller pulleys to compensate. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hide.gif.2d479cfd917eedfe201353b91522ceab.giftighten a belt?
thought you need to get a new belt period for them because the pullies are smaller?
Your 200a DC alt does full power 200a at 600-800rpm idle? I just randomly looked up a DC alt for a F150 and a 250a alternator idle outputs 180a.Alternator companies that can't make good power at idle use smaller pulleys to compensate. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hide.gif.2d479cfd917eedfe201353b91522ceab.gif
My DC does 200amps at idle with a stock size pulley.
