I just use a jigsaw and steady hand while going slow. Use a fine blade to have a cleaner cut. You can fill any gaps with silicone or glue/sawdust mixture.

the cutout for 4" aeros is 6" and the overall diameter is 7.25" btw i got a box for a single 18 you could use and a 18" alpha with fw coils. if you come pick it up for $250 its sub up port back and has cutouts for 4 4" aeros

Ok well I stopped by lowes after class today and they have the hole saw bit i need. So I'm gonna pick one up later today and get all holes cut for the front. I figured I can just get a 4" hole and take the router with a clean up bit and take another 1/8" off to get my exterior hole.

I'm debating how to finish the box. Some people tell me just to carpet it to cover any mistakes and keep it rugged. I carpeted my old 10s sealed box, but I'm not too fond of the look. I'm not sure whos box this is, but i really like the paint on the front.

Where can I get that? Any other, "economical" ideas on how to finish the box, besides bare wood?

ive always liked the look of paint better than carpet, but ive always had bare wood boxes

looking good... as far as that paint goes it's the krylon Make It Stone! Texture paints... you can buy any color and spray it on there to get the texture, then go back with say black or white spray paint over the top to get your desired color.

Ok for today:

I got the hole saw, I'll cut some holes tomorrow.

I test fitted the subs in the baffle and they fit perfect, so i can glue the baffle and round over the outter circle tomorrow.

I sanded some of the edges and got everything smooth and lined up.

I also pulled out my old crappy box and pulled the subs, so yall can see what i'm stepping up from //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif.

And lastly, I got some pics for everyone.

i am guessing it wasnt MDF that you stained though was it? i also thought some dense wood like pine or soemthing stained looks clean too.

No sadly I don't have components... I want some, but the funds to do that, went to the new box which took priority this time. I just have these coax, and they do really well.
