two L5s small ported vs one L7 ported

Right now I have two sealed L5s. I am wanting to go ported but I have a 94 accord so if i ported them it would have to be a fairly small box. The L5s are 2005 model.

My friend said he would trade me my l5s for his 2006 L7 and 100 bucks.

Do you think two L5s sealed or 2 l5s in a small ported box would be louder than one 2006 L7 ported

you dont need any more ported then you have sealed if i remember dont you have 4 cubes each sealed atm?

They are 15s. The l5s are 2005 model the L7 is a 2006.

Either setup will be hooked up to a Hifonics BX1605D amp.

My L5s are in 3 cubes sealed now

for the sake of getting rid of that hidious box setup, id say do with the L7 about 4 cubes ported 32 hz
whats wrong with 3 cube sealed per sub? I am most likely going to port them but I was just wondering what you think would be the loudest setup

Two 15 inch 2005 L5s Sealed VS Two 15 Inch 2005 L5s ported but pretty small box VS One 2006 L7 Ported Pretty good size box.

Powered by a Hifonics BX1606D Amp rated at 1600 RMS at 1 ohm.

In a 94 accord

You think i can get two 3 cubic foot boxes in this

Then Trunk is 16 inches high and 40 inches deep.

Want to tune to 35 hz for daily driving and 50 hz for comps.

2 > 1
stay with the L5's but experiment with different box's , mayby even try an in-trunk build?
This isn't necessarily true. I know for a fact that you can take one of those solo barics and put it in a 2.5 cu ft box plus port which comes out to 2.82 cu ft and it will be louder than the 2 sealed. More doesn't always mean better. I would say build a ported box for 1. You will have more room in the back to mount your other equipment and be louder than the 2 sealed. I got a 142 out of a single l7 in a extended cab sonoma compared to a 142 out of 2 l7 in a hatchback camero. Ported is MUCH louder.

you might have to make it to where the subs share one port, and 16 inches tall is goin to be tuff to get a box in, you also might have to do a in-trunk build like somone said

I would have to agree with him. i have 1 12" L7 in a 2.75 cube ported box (with out port) pussing 800 RMS in a s-10 ZR-2 extended cab. i and hitting around 130 with a single 12" L7. IMO L7's need room to breath and enough power to feed them. I was thinking about getting another one before i hooked mine up but when i heard it i was like WOW!!! L7's can bang, i would stick with trying to build a box for 1 of your L5's and see the difference and then decide if you want the L7. i have never heard an L5 so i cant say if one is better than the other but i know mine hits hard
