Two different Sub run to the same amp

Still won't damage anything unless he wires them to an impedance that the amp is not stable into. And even then it would be the wiring that was at fault, and not the act of running two different voice coil configured subs together.

Running two different voice coil configuration subs on the same amp will cause the subs to receive different amounts of power.....but definitely won't damage anything.

I was thinking of the impedance factor, so I guess I should have elaborated.....
