two amps to one sub

hey, can any1 plz give me a rundown on how to hook two amps to the one sub, already have one amp hooked to it, going to be using two, 2-chanel amps. i'm assuming that the power, trigger cable will just be a repeated process, but the rca's and the output from the amp to the sub is my main concern. Another problem is that the head unit only has one rca output, can i adapt two rca's to a sincle pair of connections?, do i have to worry about ohms? any help would be great, thanks

Bridge the 2 channels into one for both amps. (why are you using 2 channels?)

Then hook one amp to one voice coil. (assuming that your sub is DVC).

make sure that your amps are stable at that ohms when bridged.

With the power cable you can get a distro block. (dunno how many watts your using but i'd use atleast 4 gauge, if you don't need that large of wire it will still give you some headroom)

With this you run (4g) one wire to the battery to the distro block, then split that to your amps (use 8 g here). Do the something for your ground except you don't need to run it to your battery just find a clean connection close to your amps.

you can use a equalizer/electronic crossover with muliti rca outputs.

Y splitter approach

2 sub amps utilizing the phase switch

match the gains

use a y- splitter and run RCA's to both amps

flip the phase to 180 on 1 amp

wire the negative speaker terminals together

use the postive speaker terminals of the '0' phase amp for the positive sub leads

use the positive speaker terminals of the '180' phase amp for the negative sub leads

remember each amp see's half the load. so if you wire a dual 2ohm sub in series, each amp will be at 2ohm. turn it up and be careful.

I think this is right someone correct me if i'm wrong.

if the sub is a single voice coil, I'd personally sell the amp just buy a more powerful one since its sounds like thats what your tryin to do...unless the amps are strappable.
