Two amps one loses power

i have a two amp setup with one amp around 300 watts and the other about 500 both pushing one 12 inch 250 watt sub. Each amp is a different make. While music is playing the weaker amp loses power and drops in and out while the other amp plays continuously. The amps are both wired with a 2 gauge hot wire and 1 gauge ground. The hot wire splits off to both amps behind my seat as does the ground, the remote wire does also. I drive a ford pickup with a new 75 amp alternator and new battery. I don't have this problem with the amps hooked up one at a time. do i need a capacitor?

its because you have 2 differnet size amps. get 2 of the same size amps and your problem will go away
