Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced
Ok i'm sorry if this seems complicated, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I currently have an Alpine V-Power (70w*2 rms) powering my speakers. this week i will be attempting to install an 800 watt rms audiobahn amp. I'm not confident with drilling a hole in the fire wall myself, and was wondering if i could remove the existing power cable and install my larger gauged cable so theres only one running to the back of my car. after that i'd attempt to connect the smaller gauged cable for the Alpine amp, probably in the power terminal of the audiobahn amp in addition to the lager gauged power cable or something (so two power cables in the audiobahn, will it relay back to the Alpine?). the gauge wire i have i think is for amps up to a 1000 watts rms if thats any use to you. I'd rather not bring this to a shop cause i want a sense of pride from doing everything myself (i made my sub box so why stop there). thanks in advanced for any help pr alternative solutions?

Oh yeah, i had an aftermarket h/u installed as a present, how do i get it out to install the RCAs? theres no screws or anything, does it need to be pried?

correct on running the larger power wire, that is the proper way of doing it, BUT you do not wire two cables to one amp, and have the extra go to your other amp. what you need is a distribution block; one thats fused.

^^^^ that will do it.

run your big wire into one side, and take two seperate wires on the other side of it to each amp.

All debate aside, you do need a power distribution block. Just about any car audio place, locally, will have them. All else fails, just a hunk of iron with some taps and bolts wrapped in duct tape will work, but that's some effort right there- have to drill + tap every wire entry point.

Stinger distro block, which is basically option 2 I gave, but brass and covered in plastic, can be picked up for $10 at a local shop.

Wiring amps in parallel is NOT something you want to do.
