Two 12" Alpine SWR-142D's in a TCAB Box vs Two 12" 06 Kicker L7's

Should I just buy one 12" 06 Kicker L7 and next month buy the Lanzar Opti-2000D and build a box for it and then in July by the second L7 and build a second box that fits both?

Also let's say I get the two 12" Type R's and I end up not liking them or not liking them after a while...How much could I sell them for as a pair undamaged?

And SBLAZER,what do you mean by it didn't sweat untill you pushed it hard?Do you mean cranked the volume on you're HU or cranked your BB and Gain on your amp?

Either that or save up and do it all at once. that way you only have to build one box.

save the money ($300) that you will spend on a tcab and put it towards. elec. upgrade, more power, better subs, etc. build your own box and use the money else where.

and for the record R can handle 1k daily, i had an R15 on 2500d daily@ 1ohm. and it handle it wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than the SX would eva. R wasnt breakin a sweat, until i pushed it hard, where as the SX juss sweated all day.lol. but its a toss up, flip a coin and there ya go

ITS ALL IN THE INSTALL!!!!.....yea, ya know what, why dont YOU go ahead and WASTE your money on all that good stuff...throw it in a box that wont be made right, and we'll see whos is louder.....come on man, you know its all in the box...product comes 2nd...or 3rd even.
And for the thread starter....from experience..id go with the tcab...wont be 300 bucks either..prolly 250, and if you go with the type R's, you wont be disappointed how loud 2 $120 subs can get....and 250 for a great performing custom box is not bad at all!

IMO it would be cheaper to get the L7's and build your own box for like $50

After carpet, ports, wood, interior coating, wire... glue... screws... it adds up, especially when your buying everyhing to just make the one box.

Or, just buy a great box from the start and rest assured the woofers are doing everything they can in the vehicle with the given power, instead of having to build a few boxes to get things to work properly, that is, if it EVER gets to the level it would have off the bat with the TCAB.

Yeah, 50 on a box is not realistic

i'd say go w/ the L7's and just wait till u get the two of em to build a box, rather than wasting money building two.

the L7's can get hella loud and handle, IMO, alot more than a type r

and a 12in type R handling 1000 watts daily i doubt that ...

i hope your kidding...you got any experience with them? cause i got a little bit, running at 1.1k daily and today 2k. like blaze said, it didnt break a sweat

TCAB is spreading around like a virus now Go with a TCAB box the man knows what he is doing. I was amazed at the output I got out of my TCAB box and an Atlas 15 with 300 watts.
