Twisted Speaker Cables?

Ive seen some people do this and I know Tsunami offers some wire thats twisted already. Can anyone give me some more info on this?

affix one end to something, attach the other ends to a drill and presto...i dont see apoint other than to keep the wires together

I used Tsunami 12 gauge twisted cable with plastic shielding over the cables for my speakers...it's such a pain in the *** to work with.
