There is no strait forward answer to this question..



but hypothetically, a single driver with 2x the power handeling and 1.41x the linear stroke would yield the same results as two lesser drivers with the same cone area..

So many variables and some of the variables depend on your personal preferences.

There is no correct answer.

depends. 2 wil cost more $, take up more room and add more weight

I'm not sure I'm understanding the question. Since I have a type R on 500 watts, is evryone saying 2 of my Rs on the same amp would be better in all respects?

in theory both produce the same output BUT as mentioned there are variables to it that tend to lead more cone area to the easier gain.
