Tweeter that I can cross hard at 2kz?

Low fs does not mean that they will play low //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Aware of this, but when it's a chambered 1" tweeter, 2khz isn't going to be an issue, especially with a 4th order slope.

Going by the response graph on the TangBand 25-1719S and the 25-1744S, both play down to about 7-800hz before they roll off.

The 1719S looks really interesting, especially at 23 bucks a piece. If my horn setup doesn't work like I want it to, I think I'll end up giving those a whirl.

I've decided to go with a 3-way setup...figured I'd try out a situationd where the vocals would be all coming from one set of speakers instead of being split up between mids/tweets in two different locations.

SLS 8's in the doors, and MTMs in the a-pillars consisting of a pair of 3" TB bamboo cone fullranges and a pretty efficient vifa tweet. I'll be bandpassing the SLS's at 63hz-200hz with 18db slopes, bandpassing the TB's at 250hz-6.3khz with a 24db slope on the low end and 12db on the upper, and HPing the Vifas at 6.3khz with an 18db slope.

After explaining that, I feel like I'll never have the time to get it accomplished. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

These are just points you'll start at right? And what's with the 6.3khz? No more 2khz?

The ones linked above (http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=8664) looked really promising.

The 2k was for a 2-way setup that I was thinking about doing, but I came across some SLS's locally, so this 3-way idea kinda started coming to mind...grabbed me some TB's to handle the midrange, and I'm using the vifa's because they were just sitting in my closet not being used. The points listed are just starting points, but they won't change much I'm sure.

Right, 3-way front stage plus sub. I want to keep the tweeters out of vocal range for now. I'm just wanting the TB's to handle vocals so I can see how I like having one kind of speaker reproducing vocals. If I were to run the tweeter down to 2k, there'd be no real need for a 3-way since any 6.5 or 7" mid can handle 2k, and some 8's as well if you can get them on axis.

I think you might be missing the idea of having multiple speakers to cover different ranges.

Id stick around, but I have a hydraulics lab to go to

You went from wanting a 2-way with a robust tweeter to a 3-way with an MTM setup in your pillars? Good luck tuning that thing. Remember, in the world of audio "different" doesn't mean "better."

I have already tinkered with a MMT format in my pillar area, but the metal cone fullranges were just too bright for me. It's not really on my pillar, just in the corner where the pillar/dash/windshield meet. The MTM will be pretty much on axis, so tuning really shouldn't be as hard as normal setup with mids in the doors with the majority of your vocals being aimed at your knees and tweets in the a-pillar firing towards each other. T/A and level control is cake, it's the EQing that might take a while to get a nice response curve from everything.
