Tweeter replacement issue

So my components came in and the tweeters wont fit. the new ones are the same diameter as the original, but the new ones come in a little pod that has the mounting screw in it. With the tweeter in the little pod, the set up is too big to go back in the factory position. The original tweeter was glued and screwed on a little metal backing plate that secured it in place.

My issue is, is the metal backing plate ok to glue the new tweeters into place? Although the originals had the magnet touching the metal backing plate, I still have to wonder if thats ok. Atworse case I can glue the tweeters to something else like plexiglass....if that's ok, but I'd prefer to glue it to the plate.

If I had to glue anything such as this, I would NOT metal to metal/Plexy, or ABS plastic(may be cheaper) would be ideal.Just keep in mind, that once you set any type of foreign material to the speaker that cannot be removed,or alters it, may/could void all warranty.Just keep that in mind

Have you looked into Extreme Velcro?can be bought at lowes/Home Depot, and I believe holds up to 75lbs,just an option, and have used in the past for tweets, on a leased vehicle

The velcro is an excellent idea, and it gives me the opportunity to adjust it perfectly. Thanks. Now I just need to make sure the velcro thickness, and the spacer I need to prevent the tweeter from hitting the grill/wall will fit.

Did you get the tweeters in??Try the Velcro??

3M double sided trim tape it's holding my tweeters in and it's strong enough that it pulse the panels off the car before it will come loose and as for spacing just stack squares of it until its the right thickness.

I second that. Attached my Kappa Perfect tweets to my sail panels in my F250 and they're a little curved. The foam helps with uneven surfaces

I didn't do it yet. Im wiring up the car. **** I didn't think this would take so long. I'll have them in the middle of the week.
